This week’s song, the last in the series I recorded while at Living Waters Bible Camp, involves much about forgiveness. What a wonderful thing, FORGIVENESS. How much trouble would we save if we would just forgive. Often it seems that the bitterness, hurt, and damage created by offenses only hurt the person who doesn’t forgive. If we would forgive, we would be stronger, we would be able to help people.
The coolest example is one that Paul points out, Jesus. When people spat in his face, kicked him while he was down, and ultimately killed him, he still had the integrity, patience and love to say, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” How cool is that.
How much more UNITY would we have if we forgave? How much more work done for God’s Kingdom would we be able to get done if we forgave? How much less divorce would we have? How many more kids would learn from their parents? How many more friends would continue blessing instead of cursing?
I simply hope we all can be ‘Forgiving each other as the Lord as forgiven you….’
